Simulating a sacrament (in sorts)
Post Body

Watching a video of a reenactment of a 14th century Mass got me thinking.

Is it only sinful to simulate a sacrament without proper faculties if it is done publically. E.g. if someone privately vested as a priest and said Mass with no intention of consecration, would this be wrong or would the matter be more if someone pretended to be a priest and assume the faculties of a priest?

In the case of the video, the "priest" says Mass correctly according to all the rubrics of the time but with no intention of celebrating Mass. I assume this is also not wrong?
