Hi fathers. I’m having conflicting and complicated feelings about confession.
On one hand, I’ve made peace with my sexuality and moving forward, I’d like to start with a clean slate this Holy Week. Like I can now be truly honest and candid in the confessional to tell all the things I wanted to confess.
On the other hand, I am afraid I’ll get turned away or refused absolution. Around five or six years ago, a priest slammed the confessional window on me, leaving me in a mess. I can’t even remember if I was given absolution. At that time I was grappling with anxiety about my identity and sexuality.
I need your thoughts. Thank you.
