Hoping you guys can give me some insight here because my mechanic is saying it’s not throwing any codes, but something is clearly wrong.
The car died once out of nowhere a few months ago as I was turning left into a parking lot. Literally just died. No check engine light was on, and gas tank was full. I started it back up and it was fine after that.
Now, every once in a while, it will stall as I’m trying to turn left. It’s usually after I’ve been idling at a red light and then apply the gas to turn. It’ll eventually go, and the car doesn’t turn off, just stalls for a few seconds, then goes back to normal. Only seems to happen as I’m turning left.
Also, yesterday morning it was having trouble starting after sitting for 4-5 days during the holidays. It eventually started after about 6 or 7 attempts. No check engine light and drove fine after that. Took it to my mechanic this morning who tested for coded and said no errors. They tried to drive it and replicate the issue themselves and it didn’t do it, which I warned them might happen, as the issue is sporadic.
So what’s my next move here? The issue is somewhat dangerous, as this happens when I’m usually in the middle of a busy intersection in a major city. It needs to be addressed but what do I do when my mechanic is saying they can’t find an issue? Take it to a Hyundai dealer? They also courtesy tested my car a few months ago during a non-related recall fix, and said everything was fine.
Is anyone else having this issue or heard of this? TIA!
