Howdy, wifes impala has been draining its battery dramatically. I let it sit with battery disconnected for a few hours then measured parasitic draw and it had 53mA, which from what I read shouldn’t be enough to kill the battery overnight. I tested by connecting my positive meter lead to the disconnected negative connection, with the negative meter lead to the negative battery terminal.

It had a remote starter that I disconnected. I disconnected the on star as well. I replaced the ignition switch. Still having this issue.

Tested the alternator its definitely charging. Replaced it with a new battery, was able to drain it down to 11.3 volts after one night of being connected… Brutal.

Can anyone think of another test I can do? Is there anyone who has had a similar issue with a similar age Chevy? Driving me nuts and its embarrassing wife has to disconnect battery each day to ensure she can get to work in the morning. If i cant figure it out im considering installing a battery switch and finding a way to run it into the cab.

Really appreciate any insight, I value everything ive learnt from this experience but ready to move on haha.
