I have a 2010 honda accord that I've been trying to get for a few weeks. Initially, I woke up one morning, went to start it, and it just clicked like the battery was dead. Tested the battery, and it was all the way dead. Got the battery replaced, checked the connections, tried again, and still, no crank.
Ended up calling a mobile mechanic to come take a look at it. It's got spark, fuel, and air. He tested all of the mechanical components, and everything seemed to be working normal. The only issue he was able to find was that when we tried to turn it on when the fuel line was disconnected, it was not spraying out as he expected, and was more os a steady stream. He didn't charge since he couldn't diagnose, so I had it towed to a shop recommended by a friend.
At the shop he took a few days to look at it, but let me know that it's got to be an electrical issue, because everything else seems to be fine. I towed to a new place that specializes in auto electric, but they let me know it would be $600 to diagnose. I've never had electrical issues before, so I could be wrong, but that price sounded outrageous, and I'll declined the service. Currently contemplating towing it to another auto electric shop, or just selling it to be done with it. I already have another car to drive.
Essentially my question is: 1) is that what I should expect to pay for a diagnosis for an electrical issue like this? And 2) is this something anyone has seen before? Or have an idea what the issue might be?
Happy to answer any clarifying questions.
