Ford focus mk2 1.8 clutch slipping 118.5k miles
Post Body

Ive had the car 3 months and driven 3K miles already. I noticed what i think is the clutch slipping on the 2nd day i had the car. The clutch pedal feels fine goes in and out of every gear perfectly fine ive never grinded the gears ever in this car.

I think its the clutch slipping because when its in gear and i try to accelerate at a slightly faster than usual rate in gears 2 and onwards the revs go high but i dont gain much speed. It sometimes fixes itself if you press accelerator and release it a few times eventually you can go foot flat perfectly fine. If I accelerate really slow it doesnt slip at all i just have to reach 3k rpm with 10/15% throttle pressure to stay in a good rpm range when i go up a gear

Sometimes the car drives amazing in all gears doesnt slip at all and i can put my foot down and enjoy the bit of power the car has. Once it stops slipping i find accelerating harshly is the best way to stop it from starting slipping again.

Iā€™m unsure if it is the clutch because the clutch pedal feels fine i cant smell any clutch burn and it doesnt do it all the time. On the drive home when i got the car it ran amazing.

Any advice or opinions on what the problem could be?
