Shift linkage

My dumb ass got my truck towed this weekend and the driver DCd the shift linkage and somehow managed to shear the pin down so it doesn't stay put in the housing. I got a new nylon clip but that's still sliding out a fair amount. Can I use construction adhesive or gorilla glue to keep it in place till my replacement arm arrives or do I have to keep getting under my truck every time I wanna shift??
