Feeling like a major rube at the moment, can a dealership fully clean an oil pan spotless inside? Just bought a used suv and took it in for a new timing belt / water pump / pulleys and fluids. During the service I get a text from my service advisor that they found a hole in my oil pan that was patched with something gummy and that it should definitely be replaced. They sent me a picture of the inside and outside of the supposed removed oil pan with the patch. I was so frustrated that I needed to replace this as well that I failed to notice that the inside of the pan was entirely clean of oil. Nothing, it was worn but totally dry of oil. Did they get me? Or did the shop do some type of solvent deep clean of the pan during the service? TIA
