Kia Optima 2012 2.0L P0011 code and oil light on
Post Body

Hi, my son's Optima started to do this sound and threw the oil light. According to the P0011 code, it's often the VVT solenoids (it has two) being clogged so, being the easiest to check, I took them out, cleaned them with mass air flow sensor cleaner and confirmed that both are working, have a good impedance and the connectors have voltage. However, the problem persist, so they are not the problem. My next guess is the oil pump? What do you think?

Engine was changed last year through the class action against Kia/Hyundai. Not sure if this would be covered through the warranty they have to provide due to the class action. His dealership said they can't take it until next month!
