I have a 2018 ford escape (I will never be buying one of these again btw so please don't even tell me anything about that) and the check engine light turned on the other Dat. Took it to autozone, they ran a diagnostic check and turns out there is a problem with the evap purge solenoid. I put gas in the car today and the car kept spitting and sputtering and wouldn't accelerate, which makes me think that the valve is stuck open. Is there something that could be causing it to be stuck open? Is there an easy fix for under $300? If so I won't even bother taking it to the mechanic I scheduled it with next week and will just take it to someone in town or maybe even fix it myself
