Rpms jump to 3 - 3.5 while on highway?
Post Body

Im driving a 2009 Suzuki SX4. Road tripping from gulf coast Mississippi to Redding, CA for a job. Im in Cali now and in higher elevations, which i know can do weird things to old vehicles that are use to driving at sea level. But for example, ill go 65 mph on the highway, and without me moving the pedal my rpms go from a little over 2000 to 3500. Like it wants to go into 4th gear. Earlier on my trip it was having issues maintaining acceleration. Like id be going 65mph and it would slowly decelerate unless i pressed the pedal hard enough to get it into the next gear. Putting gas treatment seemed to solve the issue, but now my rpms are shooting up. The rpms will maintain about 3 to 3.5 until i get to an exit ramp and slow down, and i feel the gears shift down. Help please? Im in Stockton, CA and really just need to get to Redding.
