Hi, having a problem with my rav4 and I can't for the life of me figure out the issue.
One of the main symptoms is that the Fuel Pump won't spin up and according to the wiring diagram of the fuel pump control, the ECU needs a signal from STA (neutral switch, confirmed working) and NE (Crank Position Sensor, confirmed at least reading a resistance). The tachometer doesn't move when the car cranks, but like I said, the problem is intermittent and sometimes it does.
The main part I am stuck on RN is figuring out the operation of the C/OPN relay. I can confirm the relay works, but the coil end only gets 5V on average. When the car does actually run I can measure 12V across the points with the relay removed, only dropping back down to 5V when the engine stops rotating. I actually did get it running but then I disconnected the CPS at the engine and then it just stopped working. I have checked its connection to my ECU and it does register 1300 ohms at the ECU main board, so there is definitely a connection. I suspect its something to do about the CPS signal as the C/OPN relay is controlled by the CPS and the STA signal's enabling a transistor. I can also confirm that the IG2 relay does close as I can measure 12V from the battery to the FC ECU pin.
I really don't know what else to do, I have an extra sensor but I like money more than having things I don't need and I would like to confirm that I do not need to install a new sensor.
Anyone's help would be extremely appreciated, I will try to answer as quickly as I can.
Thank you all so much!
