04 Nissan Sentra.

A couple weeks back I was driving around and the speakers started to pop and even when turning the radio off it was making this noise, eventually it stopped but so did my radio functioning. Today I tried to replace the radio, got all the wires hooked back up but the radio shows no display. You can see it illuminated but nothing actually showing. I tried an old radio I had that I know works thinking maybe it was the radio but did the same thing illuminated so I know power is going to it but no display screen.

Could this be the main wire needs replaced? I had some water that potentially could have gotten inside from a/c line backup.
