Our last rode trip was September 2020 to Ohio. We saw Trump flags, billboards, etc. everywhere. Homes decked out in Trump merch. Stores. Etc. Bumper stickers. So many stickers. I know it was election time, but I'm talking about things that had obviously been there for awhile.
We just took another road trip from Indiana to Tennessee. While in Kentucky, Waze took us off the interstate, and onto a side street in a small town, to avoid a traffic jam. We saw a Trump flag posted on someone's house that was tattered and about half gone. That is when I realized I hadn't seen anything Trump the whole trip yet. It wasn't until we got to Pigeon Forge that I saw Trump's name again. And it was a store - that was vacant. The sign was still there but the business was gone. There were a few smaller stores that had a life size cut out of him in their windows but aside from that- nothing.
We stop off in small towns often on our road trips. We saw a lot of them. And for the most part, there was no sign of Trump. I'm sure there are still people who have things in their yards that we didn't see but the main area's of towns seem to be cleared. Also, driving through Indiana, Kentucky & Tennessee without seeing more than 5 Trump stickers total on vehicles - is kind of surprising.
Have you noticed this where you are? Has the support faded?
Editing to add: I understand you see more during an election. However, where I live, there are still people who have this stuff in their yards or on their cars. People who don't believe Trump lost the election would likely keep their Trump bumpersticker on their cars right? And mostly, the media makes it seem like Trump supporters are still very fanatical - with their clothes, gear, flags, etc. So I'm just trying to see if others that used to see a lot of this have noticed a large drop off from the past 4 years or not. Like maybe the 'in your face' supporter style has become more closeted?
