So what's the deal? I've seen some lefties on YouTube, guys like Kyle of secular talk, Hassan and Jimmy Dore constantly going to bat for Russia. And I don't understand fucking why?! Russia is the antithesis to any remote idea of leftism. They (Russian government) is very regressive, filled with fascists and homophobia.
Is it because of the trope "America bad, therefore who ever sticks their thumb in our eye is good?" Or is it something else I'm not seeing? In particular with Russia and the American left, because I can understand and see why a lot of far right people here go to bat for Russia because they are the same. And in all honesty the far right here admire Russia.
So what's you all's thought on this?
