If 14.1 million jobs have been added, why is the market so darn competitive right now?
Post Body

Are the jobs added in blue collar industries in the Rust Belt or something? I graduated with my B.A in Poli Sci last year and even for retail jobs that required no experience, none of them ever got back to me when I sent in an application. This is despite the fact that I made a detailed resume and sent in cover letters.

I know others are dealing with this too and there’s no denying Biden’s done good with pulling the economy out of a global pandemic, but I feel like some people including myself aren’t feeling the benefits of all the job growth. My personal opinion for why the market is competitive is that employers had to raise wages so much and they don’t want to add more people on payroll right now. Maybe in Biden’s second term the market will open back up again but who knows
