My MIL went in for a root canal and one of her nerves was calcified. The oral surgeon broke a tool during the procedure and therefore couldn't finish. They referred her to an endodontist, who will do imaging, remove the broken pick, and finish the procedure.
The original dentist office is refunding $1300 of the original $4000 billed for the operation, but the endodontist is giving us an estimation of >$2400 for them to finish.
Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the original dentist to pay for any additional costs that occur due to their mistake?
