I moved to Kentucky 4 years ago to work a family farm. Before that I lived in South Carolina during which time I had my license suspended. Over the past 4 years I’ve not needed a license and have gotten by with just an ID, but I’ve started having to drive here recently and got a ticket. Now I have already payed $3000 reinstatement fee (which I had to do in person in South Carolina via a 16 hour $400 greyhound ride) recently trying to fix my suspension before I go to court for the ticket; But when you call the scdmv the automated system says their callback system is down and to call back later or go to the website. When you go to the websites and go through the motions to try to get answers there it directs me to call (which leads me to the same callback system down try again later) or to a list of their locations. I need a copy of a receipt showing I’ve paid my reinstatement fee and need to figure out why my license isn’t reinstated. It seems very wrong that they have basically forced me to travel all the way to South Carolina in order to get some simple answers about my license! Is that legal?
