Is it libel? On a professional email list for school faculty and counselors, a leader falsely claimed I broke an agreement on a public statement, falsely claimed I fabricated a quote on his business, and made other false claims. This portrays me as dishonest and directly harms my reputation.
Post Body

I tried to resolve it with the leader and tried to get the list moderators and school to address it, but they appear to be protecting the leader. Can I take legal action? I don't have direct evidence my business was harmed or anything, but he is publicly portraying me as dishonest and portraying me as lying, which harms my standing and reputation among my business peers. It is a huge international email list read by hundreds of people in our field. Thanks for advice.
