On Labor Day, I was parked on the side of a street. I came out the next day to see a ticket for expired registration on my vehicle. My vehicle is properly registered, but it appears my tags fell off/were removed at some point. The plates and VIN come up in MN DMV as registered properly. I ordered new tags the same day.
Here's the thing, the car make on the ticket was wrong, as a Chevy. I own a Mercury Milan. The plate and visible color were correct.
I tried to call the number listed and, after inputting the ticket number, it said "no further action is required." I'm not sure if I still need to go to court, pay the fee and admit guilt, or another procedure.
I'd appreciate any advice or tips for figuring out how to take care of this, preferably avoiding court if necessary as I work two jobs, both during the week, and throughout the entirety of court hours, so it's difficult enough to make a phone call to check status.
