August of last year I was in an extremely toxic relationship. My girlfriend at the time came home one day, bathed in my room drunk, picking a fight while I was just minding my own business in my room (we had moved into separate rooms) broke my tv, threatened to attack me, and a couple months prior threatened to have my beat up by her bar fling) opened mail addressed to me and eventually got to the point where she attacked me unprovoked due to her drunken state, caused a nose bleed, pulled by the hair and slapped around for what felt like maybe an hour. After this I got kicked out in the middle of the month after a verbal agreement that she would lower rent due to breaking my TV maybe 2 weeks prior.
I should have called the police then, though didnāt want to escalate things further, have her arrested and have her ācall people to remove me from her houseā. Just didnāt want that worry hanging over my head. I have Audio, as well as every text message showing her abusive behavior towards me, as well as her admitting to opening my mail, breaking my tv, attacking me, being proud of it.
Is there sufficient grounds as well as within time limits of pursuing legal action against her?
