The Grudge (the american version of Ju-On) movie series have always been super interesting to me, most of the movies came out when I was quite young and I learned a lot about Japan and Japanese culture through them. Obviously, I know these are just movies and a lot of it is pure fiction.
I've always wondered though how the American version of the whole series called The Grudge is perceived by the average Japanese. Did you care about it when it came out? Is it still popular today? Do you feel like it's a good portrayal of certain aspects of your horror culture or do you feel rather that the series is an insult towards your culture?
Thanks in advance!
