Spare room only used by Hauptmeiter, should i be bothered by this?

So i live in Berlin and this the second time i've lived with someone (The Hauptmieter) where there is a additional/spare room that only they use. It's essentially his private living room/party room. i've been in there once when they had some people over but i'm essentially not to go in there without them. Is this normal or should bother me? I'm not even sure if we're paying (the other roommates) extra and not getting to use the room which i guess would be my main issue. Are they entirely within their right to do this? Just interested to hear some perspective.
