I want to preface by saying that I know that the vast majority of people can speak English in Germany and will do so.
My question has to do with how people manage to get opportunities to live in Germany without speaking the language. For example, how do people work or study in Germany without knowing German? Do people who live in Germany without the language have jobs that are in English or don't require German? Are they studying in English speaking universities? I know that there are many people foreign to Germany who can't speak German and are living there.
I was just recently in Germany and have been a few times and love it there compared to North America. I want to eventually move, either to do a master's or to work so will either try and get fluent in German. My interest in work lies in front line work and helping people in a non profit setting.
Anyway, how do people live in Germany without speaking German? What would be the best way to relocate there without the language or should I get fluent?
Edit: I am learning German and am probably near A1 or A2 currently.
