My year old JK fireline boots were as well maintained as could be last fire season. Towards the end of the year however when it got colder (I’m from Canada) the bottoms had turned hard and plastic like. Months later after sitting I’ve begun trying to restore them. I’ve used mink oil, then tried to scrub them with warm water and saddle soap followed by conditioning using a beeswax/ beef tallow/ nearsfoot oil conditioner. So far they have become slightly more pliable but still ultimately extremely hard. The uppers are still perfect and soft but firm. Any tips? The bottoms were rough out originally.
