Hello everyone,
I have 2 vintage custom cowboy boots by makers that have passed away. They are awesome both of them fit in the width and length with one being actually pretty roomy in my toes. Both have pretty tight insteps and although my left foot can handle it, my right foot has a bit larger arch leading to a lot of pain after a couple hours.
I'm considering going two routes one is taking them to my local cobbler and getting them stretched in the instep. The second is relasting them. I want to know if the first option is viable since it is the cheapest and if it's not just a temporary fix where the leather will just end up going back to it's regular tightness after a few days without wearing. I will be getting shoe trees to keep em in shape but not sure how should I approach these.
