Iâd like yâallâs opinions on some biblical cinematic ideas I have.
1) A production following an island tribe that, unbeknownst to them, lives as the Father intended. It would follow a tribe chief from childhood to his position as leader, showing, without known dialogue [to the viewer], how he came to realize that the world he lived in was indeed created, because he would notice the signs of a world that could only have been crafted by something greater. (He wonât have any preconceived notions of the shape or origins of the world, be them biblical or non-biblical.) He would then show these things to his children as well as the other villagers, regardless of age. These scenes would show organic, heartfelt communication of non-modern humans. There would be scenes of him getting to, as well as arriving at his realization, and there would possibly be some light cgi to help carry more of his experience over to the viewer. At the end, it would show him resurrected and meeting with the Father and the Father calling him by name, speaking his language (this time, with English (or whatever) subtitles), and telling him that he lived life exactly as he needed to: finding the Father and showing other people to Him. Not entirely sure how long this production would be; may be hard to stretch this to feature length. But thereâs something there, and itâs main purpose of course is to show anyone in the world, believer or not, that the Father has a plan even for those who have never heard of Jesus.
2) A miniseries/drama of the flood. This one would ultimately be controversial, because it would showcase biblical cosmology and how the flood would make perfect mechanical/physical sense via that model and would also show just where all that water came from (and how it couldâve affected geology). But, before people raise their pitchforks, it would be done as a though provoker via on-screen presentations of Scripture verses that either owe to or outright speak of it. It would open each episode with a verse of Scripture that tells of a great event of the flood.
For instance, at the start of the episode where the waters/rains began, it will start with a black screen and a low, rumbling and swirling sound, with wavy, slowly-motioned (yet readable) text appearing, reading, â11In the six hundredth year of Noahâs life, on the seventeenth day of the second monthâon that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.â The text between the hyphen and verse twelve would become golden/highlighted and remain, while the other text faded out, with the part on the great deep fading next, then the part on the floodgates fading after that, to leave âwere opened.â remaining, with that low, rumbling sound making a unnerving crescendo up until the sound and black screen suddenly vanish to reveal an emotional change of pace, following Noah and crew finishing up getting the animals organized from when they miraculously appeared at the ark in the last episode and then boarded, with lighthearted jokes about the smell. The end of the episode would culminate in showing what would basically be various volcanos of water on the sea floor, suddenly and violently spewing up water from below the seabed (like the jets in a hot tub, but with water instead of air), as well as a shot of various spots up in the firmament where loud, creaking, moving noises are heard, and water then is seen gushing out from what looks like a gargantuan and upside down representation of a shipâs hull that has sprung many leaks. The very last shot would interlace âthe sinless people of the world feeling those first few raindropsâ with âthe Father Himself lifting up, closing, and sealing shut the door of the ark,â with a tense sound leading up to the door closing (remember, there will be an increasing frequency of going between this shot and the look on the faces of the godless as they realize âthat rain nonsenseâ was actually true), with the screen going black and the sound vanishing right as the door closes, with text âand the Father shut him inâ appearing silently at first, then accompanied by the sound of a few raindrops at first, with them then growing towards a downpour, hinting at the next episode, then shutting to black completely, no sound.
3) A production on the Rapture, and how it would be perceived by the world at large, and Satanâs subsequent âexplanationâ for it soon after. Aliens will have shown up in the sky to save humanity from the brink of nuking itself at the end of WW3. Theyâll tell us how theyâve been watching us for a long time now, and that they noticed that âChristiansâ were the problem, and that theyâve removed all the Christians from the world, so that everyone else can finally âlive in peace [and safety](hmm..)â and enjoy the new world that these aliens are able to construct at science-fiction-like speeds. They will have a leader who someone will try to assassinate, yet the leader will raise from that fatal blow, and the world, watching these events on their tvâs and phones and laptops and glasses/lenses, will fawn over this person, wondering âWho on earth can take this person on?! Who is like this guy?!â
I have many more ideas, but these ideas will need proper budgets. All said, these things merely exist in my mind at the moment, as mere thoughts of productions that could be made one day. Theyâre fun to ponder, and Iâm sure that if made properly, they, like many Christian productions before, can help give a sense of realism for the Bible to people who may need that perspective to help them see that itâs indeed the truth.
What are yâallâs thoughts on these few of my ideas?
