In the past, I asked Americans if they could remember anything that was really massive in the UK - specifically, if they knew any Blur/Oasis songs besides Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, and Song 2.
I'm from America, and in this country if you couldn't afford cable there was PBS Kids - which aired shows like Clifford, Arthur, Dragon Tales, and Cyberchase, among others. The first two are still pretty well known in the UK, the other two - Dragon Tales and Cyberchase - don't seem to be at all.
In America back in the early-mid 2000s, both Cyberchase and Dragon Tales were absolutely massive on PBS Kids. Dragon Tales had live stage shows and tons of merchandise, and both shows were promoted and aired frequently.
In the UK, though, Dragon Tales didn't do nearly as well. Tiny Pop and Nickelodeon did air the show around 2002 or so, but it wasn't anywhere near as big like in the US and as far as I know they didn't even air all of the seasons of the show. Both channels stopped airing the show shortly afterwards and it just seems like it's completely forgotten in the UK, kind of like ToddWorld and Stickin' Around are in the US (neither of those are PBS Kids shows, but you get my point).
Ditto for Cyberchase, that show ran on Pop but I have no clue how often it aired, it too faded away very quickly (Wikipedia states it stopped airing there in 2004, but there's no source for this).
Funny enough, while Dragon Tales itself kind of faded into obscurity even in America, for some reason Cyberchase is still airing new episodes (not often, but it's still going).
So I must ask, do any of you remember watching either of these series growing up?
