There has recently been a huge increase in spam-bot Reddit accounts.

Some women hire agencies to promote them on Reddit, and draw traffic to paid platforms. That in and of itself is not a bad thing.

The problem is the agencies buy pre-existing Reddit accounts, or create dozens of new Reddit accounts. They write code to mass-spam images to dozens of Reddit pages all at one time. This is when you see things like thin women in chubby subreddits, solo women on couples pages, boobs on an ass page, etc.

There’s been some bot accounts promoting teen / early 20s women here. I ban one bot, and another bot appears a few hours later, posting images of the same woman I banned. I ban that second bot account, only for a third to appear sharing the same woman. It’s like Whack-a-Mole!

I made mandatory post flairs that display age. I figure the agencies aren’t paying attention to the subreddits they’re posting in since they’re having their bots mass-spam all at once. I also figure bots are coded to select the first available flair, which is for women below 30.

This will save time, as I won’t have to scroll the history of every single suspected bot…until I see they’ve also posted on a teen-centric subreddit, confirming my suspicions.

This subreddit is for Asian and part-Asian women 30years old and up. I specifically created it because all the other Asian related subreddits skew very young. It made me feel weird to be posting alongside women young enough to be my daughter. I wanted a space where “older” Asians didn’t feel like they had to compete with 19 year olds.

Anyone who selects the “below 30” post flair will be banned.
