First, I just want to put some spotlights on these two talented Asian Comedians that I found recently: Ray J Lau and Paul Ogata. They are both hilarious and don't coon or sell out Asian people for cheap laughs.
I think it's healthy for us to start ignoring minstrels like Ken Jeong that Hollywood tries to push and start supporting Asian talents that can make us proud. I think it's time for us to get our Chapelles and Patrice O'Neals.
What are some of your favorite Asian comedians that do not coon?
I agree with you on this and even though Dave was/is great, he was totally cooning on his show. All of those African American stereotypes he pushed, he even said on Oprah part of the reason he didn’t do another season because he was doing a skit and all of the white people on the set were cracking up, then it hit him. They weren’t laughing with him, they were AT him and there is a different so that was a part of the reason he stopped the show.
