Following my Hauling Responsibly post, I decided to expand a little bit about 'Product Categories' and how they help me organise my skincare routine and purchasing.
I can confidently say, every skincare product I own belongs to one of four categories that I’ve identified as important for me. Categories help me figure out what I have, what gaps exist and help me understand where something will go and how it will interact with everything I have before I buy it. I try not to pin hopes on one single product, but how it will work with the whole thing.
It does seem a little involved initially, but this actually came about organically and until I started writing out this post, I hadn't put it in words! Unlike some of the lucky people here, I don't have the luxury of having all my products on display, so knowing my categories, and tracking them with a spreadsheet really helps me know what I have in my stash, it's function and helps me cut down on buying duplicates when I don't need it!
Have a read of the full blog post here, complete with a more detailed breakdown of each product, it's category and the function of each category!
Do you mentally organise products into categories too?
