I recently had drinks with coworkers and long distance dating came up as a topic. One coworker said “yeah, but isn’t the whole point of a relationship the sex? You can’t get that with long distance.” Now, I hate this. I run into the whole relationship = sex = relationship thing all the time. So I offered up “you know, some people don’t see sex as the focal point of a relationship,” to which my coworker responded “yeah, but those people are WEIRD!” I let it end there, because I didn’t see the point in telling everyone that I am, in fact, one of those “weird” people.
This tiny interaction has gotten under my skin, and I’m frustrated. Not necessarily at my coworker, but definitely at the whole relationships are for sex idea.
You never know when you’re sitting next to an Ace, so watch what you say 🤬
