So here's the deal a vendor has been helping us repair a Point 2 point Aruba setup.. It was standalone..
They recommended we go to the ArubaCentral cloud for managing it (we have regular AP's on it)
So fine and dandy we get both sides setup, the bridge is working yay..
Here's the deal we have 5 different vlans (one for wifi AP's, data, phone, and switch mgmt). It's supposedly set right. The data network and AP vlan's are passing through and getting IP's.
The switch mgmt (the hpe aruba 2920's aren't even responding on the network but I can console into them locally, and phones get a ip temporarily on the data vlan and switch to the phone vlan. Once on the phone vlan nothing.. They don't get IP's.. it doesn't pass over..
So according to the vendor the BPDU /spanning tree (which drives me nuts honestly) isn't going over the bridge.. We were on AOS8 before it crapped, and they moved us to AOS10..
Any ideas? The vendor is supposedly still working on it.. I'm hoping to have this figured out before monday when people show up.. And want phones working.. It's been down for almost a week.
update:
With the old setup the LLDP had been blocked, but with the new OS on the AP's without LLDP it wasn't negotiating enough power.
Bldg1 (one with an internet connection, and DHCP servers etc)
Bldg2 (isolated, no DHCP srvr)
So we have AP's all over the place, this same vendor installed, they setup a Deviceprofile (we didn't have them before, it was done earlier this year)
So Bldg1:
device-profile name "default-ap-profile"
cos 0
exit
device-profile name "AP"
untagged-vlan 182
tagged-vlan 85,166,179-180,184,232-233,1184,1186
exit
device-profile type "aruba-ap"
associate "AP"
enable
exit
The port itself when I run a "show run"
interface 46
name "AP Bridge"
power-over-ethernet high
mac-notify traps learned
mac-notify traps removed
exit
But then if I do a "sh run int 46"
interface 46
name "AP Bridge"
power-over-ethernet high
tagged vlan 85,166,179-180,184,232-233,1184
untagged vlan 182
spanning-tree admin-edge-port
exit
So go figure on that..
Bldg2:
interface 24
name "Bldg2 - Main Link 2 Bridge"
tagged vlan 1,85,166,179-180,184,232-233
untagged vlan 182
spanning-tree priority 5
exit
