Layer 3 Switch MAC
Post Body

I’m new to Aruba and networking in general.

I assign my network devices in my firewall’s DHCP Server to have a fixed assignment, meaning it will hand out the IP address using the MAC provided.

For an Aruba switch, does the entire switch have a singular MAC, or just each port? I’m not talking about devices connected to the port, but the port itself. I see “Base MAC” in the web interface and also same MAC when I type “show lldp info local-device”.

For instance, if port 1 on my Aruba switch is connected to my firewall, if I type “display interface 1” is the “Hardware Address” the MAC I need to type into my firewall to ensure that’s the IP the switch is given for management purposes?
