Iâm new to Aruba and networking in general.
I assign my network devices in my firewallâs DHCP Server to have a fixed assignment, meaning it will hand out the IP address using the MAC provided.
For an Aruba switch, does the entire switch have a singular MAC, or just each port? Iâm not talking about devices connected to the port, but the port itself. I see âBase MACâ in the web interface and also same MAC when I type âshow lldp info local-deviceâ.
For instance, if port 1 on my Aruba switch is connected to my firewall, if I type âdisplay interface 1â is the âHardware Addressâ the MAC I need to type into my firewall to ensure thatâs the IP the switch is given for management purposes?
