Hello fellow artists. I am looking for advice on what the title says.
I took a photorealism class in college and I have no other art experience so that’s the only way I have drawn the last few years. The style I want to draw in is kind of a mix of graffiti and photorealism with dark, nature leaning themes. I am hyper attached to references and my ruler which I feel is prevents me from being creative.
My solution has just been to photoshop something similar to what’s in my mind but I’d prefer to be able to just draw.
Can someone help me pin point what fundamentals I’m lacking to be more than just a photo copier?
