Artist Avatars?

Been thinking about this for a little while; but I'm wondering how many artists here have personal avatars for themselves? Similar to how certain manga artists would represent themselves like that?
And to those people that have; how pray tell do you come up with designs for those?!? I've come up with characters before but... those were OC's, not avatars. Big difference.
