Ive made a little clay model out of air dry clay and ive been painting it with gouache which im pretty sure isn't the best choice, but it worked on my previous one, the issue is that the colour looks really messy and you can see a bunch of lines which separate the different brush strokes.

As i mentioned i made an air dry clay figure and the paint is going on messy and making it really annoying to get finished. Im using gouache because I didn't have acrylic paint and also dont know how to use them and because it worked quite well last time i made something so i thought it would be good this time. Any advice on how to use gouache or other tips would be greatly appreciated.
