Crawling on all fours, she pauses briefly. The soft, moonlit night casts an ethereal glow over the forest, its silver light dancing on the leaves. The wind shifts slightly, and the stag lifts his head in her direction. She steadies her breathing, lowering herself further into the tall grass. Minutes pass. The wind dies down, and the stag, reassured, lowers his head again and resumes grazing, moving slowly uphill toward the larger trees.

In one swift movement, the huntress leaps towards him, drawing her knife from her belt. By the time he sees her, she swiftly cuts his throat, ending his agony quickly. Blood flows onto the ground, burnishing the soil, the grass, and the leaves.
Kneeling beside him, she gives thanks, knowing his life will provide sustenance for many others.
