Erica's angle on wearing purple was aggressive.
I feel like that's a microcosm of wider society.
Personally I'm tired of every form of entertainment I used to enjoy spoonfeeding me a sociopolitical message at every opportunity but any time that's mentioned there's an aggressive angle on how I'm secretly bigoted.
So they didn't wear purple Erica so what? Do we now think Dan and Marc are secretly homophobic?
Coming back to the gruden thing that annoyed me a few weeks ago... so gruden used some slur words. When Carl nassib came out as gay, Gruden went out of his way to support him publicly.
Whether we want to say gruden did the thoughtcrimes jokingly in a specific context, or whether we want to say Gruden has learned and developed in the time since he did the thoughtcrimes, I firmly believe that actions speak louder than words and Gruden's actions have involved actively encouraging the NFL's first publicly gay player.
Do we all somehow forget about this and the positive message that was sent or do we just have to accept that this week we're outraged about the next sensationalised issue even if it doesn't quite fit with what's already been observed?
For daring to go against the narrative, I dont care if I'm down voted into oblivion or removed from the sub for my thoughtcrimes. You might think its 2021 but its actually 1984.
