When did you guys figure out what aircraft you wanted to fly?

I honestly don't know if I would want to even try to fly apaches and have fun with guns, or keep to the blackhawk side of the house and maybe, just maybe get into medevac. I enjoyed the 60 community a lot with how close maintenance and the pilots were in terms of getting birds up and being chill. But I've heard the exact opposite of the apache community and it being toxic as hell.
But in terms of flying, did you figure it out more in bws? Or is it just a tossup?
