I’m in a Pre-Vet Major on AD and I’m wanting to direct commission because more money. I’ve read the posts about doing well at OCS to get branch of choice, which makes sense and I plan to do VERY well. However, my question is, if I get my bachelors while on AD, and I THEN want to go to veterinary school, what should I do? The HPSP is my next logical move but with that being the case, would I need to do a certain amount of time on AD as an officer, like the minimum 3 years? Or is it as simple as graduating, commissioning and doing maybe 18 months on AD and THEN attempting to go to med school? What would that process look like for an officer? FYSA I’m wanting to retire from AD as a Veterinarian, just trying to figure out a way to get there with a wife and 3 kids.
