A close friend of my wife is having medically induced labor today. Because her fetus had tumors growing on its skull and spine and didn’t survive the pregnancy, she is being forced to go through actual labor, rather than having a peer-reviewed and established procedure which could be outpatient.

However, rather than a safe abortion procedure, her OB is requiring a “live birth” to avoid prosecution at this late stage in the pregnancy.

This is thinly-veiled cruelty disguised as compassion. Please don’t vote on anecdotes, but also know the possible complications if you’re going to outlaw a very safe, intimate procedure.
