A close friend of my wife is having medically induced labor today. Because her fetus had tumors growing on its skull and spine and didnât survive the pregnancy, she is being forced to go through actual labor, rather than having a peer-reviewed and established procedure which could be outpatient.
However, rather than a safe abortion procedure, her OB is requiring a âlive birthâ to avoid prosecution at this late stage in the pregnancy.
This is thinly-veiled cruelty disguised as compassion. Please donât vote on anecdotes, but also know the possible complications if youâre going to outlaw a very safe, intimate procedure.
