Cherrelle blazer sizing and styling

So I just got a black Cherrelle blazer and I do love it but I’m having second thoughts about the sizing. I chose a size small and I’m normally it medium. It fits well in shoulders and buttons up ok (more fitted) but not big enough to later anything more than a light sweater (Sicily cardigan weight) under it. When I tried the medium it looked very very large and long on me since I’m only 5 feet tall, but now I’m thinking maybe I should have sized up for more versatility?? My reasoning was I have a Ganna and Rocco that are both super oversized so it would be nice to have something more flattering, although with the double breast on the Cherrelle I still get that oversized feeling without drowning in fabric.

TLdr; how do you like your blazers to fit? Do you get more wear out of them if they are oversized?
