Any suggestion for riding occasional piece of icy road?

Looking for ideas on how to get more stability on icy road. I’ve ridden the bike on snowy road, feels great in powder. But as soon as the snow is packed - or worst, icy, kind of a shit show for general stability. Other than buying stuffed tires… any ideas of how I could make bike a bit more stable on slippery roads? Planning to use bike to get to my local backcountry ski spot this winter…
