*no survey in-game
TL;DR Tarkov and CoD's DMZ had a baby and it is AB:I
It is not going to be as immersive as Tarkov as it'll be aiming for a more mainstream audience so I'm leaving out "what would make it better vs. Tarkov", I think it does its job well being a mix of the above. I have no idea how monetization works outside of subscription based containers so I will not take that into account. For a F2P game, I am quite impressed and having fun.
Pros:
- UI/QoL/Item Management (I love that we can roll up empty bags/rigs to save space), this point overall is really well implemented.
- Not needing to spend much time in load screens, even at start of closed Beta (far less people playing than if it was released/open beta)
- Quick equip
- Gunsmith, showing prices for each attachment, and the estimated overall value
- I seriously love the med. system
- Server stability, although in menu I have a 250 ping vs in-raid where I stay below 100 so I am guessing it is server related and auto places me? I find myself running into a lot of Asian players which is uncommon in my experience (US East) due to the high ping. Anyways, in-game feels smooth.
- Farm feels very easy to get into the game being a very thin and lengthy map. I have only played 3 matches of Valley so I cannot comment on it.
Cons:
- Looking through windows from the outside is too dark.
- Items sell value feel very undervalued, I will have a "great raid" and then feel like I left with pennies.
- Quest rewards do not feel impactful, I guess the benefit is leveling and unlocking better trader prices?
- Having access to EVERYTHING immediately from the start (this may fix the first problem if it wasn't a thing)
- Hitboxes feel inconsistent, sometimes it'll take me 2-3 headshots to kill something whether it is player or AI.
- Possibly no wipes if it is like the mobile version. It'll die off long-term.
- These next 2 are far more opinion than all of the above, but related to the prior point, due to TTK and inconsistent hitboxes I feel it is very difficult to play as a solo and succeed.
- Game feels a little...TOO loud. I feel like I'm playing Siege the way my guy is thumping around everywhere. Would like to see non-covert movement audio tuned down just a little bit.
If anybody knows how monetization works on mobile, please feel free to enlighten me because I am clueless outside of what their plan is for income.
