Even now as I write this it is hard to believe that it actually happened.
It all started a few months ago when my grandfather passed away.
He was a famous writer who had always been so generous with his money to the family and we all expected to inherit some portion of his wealth.
The house, his manor estate in the countryside went to my step-grandmother, his gold digging trophy wife.
His classic car collection was distributed to my cousins, all of whom also received a small trust. This included my two older sisters.
My parents and other aunts and uncles were given antiques and artwork as well as lump sums of money and rights to continued sales of his works.
I was always aspiring to write like he did and spent much more time with him teaching me how to write. He always said the secret to his success was his prized antique typewriter. As such, I was gifted a small trust for living expenses but nothing gaudy and one other singular thing. The typewriter along with a note that read...
To my favorite grandson, may this help you be as successful as i was. Be careful what you write, lest reality become stranger than fiction. Use it wisely.
I didnt care much for money and was enthused rk have such a memorable piece of his life to call my own. Little did I know how valuable it really was, or how it would change things.
OK, so if you've read this far you probably can guess where this is going. The typewriter will allow me to change reality based on what I write on it.
Will I do good? Will I change the dynamic of my family? Will I corrupt all those around me?
Who's to say?
