Outdoor tub help

Hi everyone. I’ve just bought myself a 25 gallon tub that I plan on using as an outdoor pond.
I have experience with indoor tanks but I was hoping for a bit of guidance on how to setup an outdoor tub.
I live in Australia so average temperatures range from 30 degrees (86 Fahrenheit) (can get up to 40 (104 Fahrenheit) in summer to 10 degrees (50F) in winter.
So a few questions -
- Do I need substrate?
- What kind of fish should I consider?
- What kind of plants should I consider?
- What kind of filtration (if at all) should I use?
- Are there any other considerations?
Obviously I’d need to cycle it as usual, but I’d love some help with the above questions.
