Can't find dead shrimp in nano aquarium. What to do?

Post Body

So I am very new to aquariums. I set up a planted 1 gallon nano jar aquarium and stupidly added in 5 ghost shrimp before the tank was ready to go. Unfortunately, all of them died. Now my problem is I could only find 4 shrimp. I let them sit for a couple days because I stupidly thought dead shrimp would help culture good bacteria and be beneficial for the plants. Honestly, I feel pretty stupid.

I have moved all of the plants and rocks and just can not find this dang shrimp. There is some clear murky goo stuff on the bottom, so part of me thinks the other shrimp had begun feeding on it before they all died too and the rest of it started decomposing. I have added some starter bacteria to the tank now in hopes to reduce ammonia levels.

Aside from completely redoing the tank, is there anything I can do?

Feel free to bash me, I'm prepared. I am new and know that everything said here probably sounds completely stupid to those of you with more experience. It's all learning for me and I have definitely learned from this!
