Overwhelmed and need assistance with live plants

I was convinced to get live plants months ago and it was great for a while. One plant will NEVER stay down. I have 4 plants and one just wont stay planted. The other 3 are fine. They are getting coated with brown stuff?? That looks like algae and crazy algae growth on the tank as well. I’m cleaning the algae off daily and it’s not helping much. I’m overwhelmed and thinking of just scrapping the live plane idea and going back to silk plants even though they’re not as great. Any tips to keep the plant planted down and dealing with algae?
