Hello enthusiasts, I'm looking into getting a horseshoe crab in... who knows. 10 years when I'm successful enough to take care of these darn amazing creatures and I need some advice.
Searching for tank advice is a hobby of mine and while I move around a lot, I always dream of having a tank. A horseshoe crab tank to be exact...
And I know that they require a LOT of specialized care. But that's where I'm asking you guys.
The species I'm interested in taking care of is the Atlantic Horseshoe Crab... Limulus polyphemus I believe? They grow up to 2 ft long I hear.
I don't mind Mangrove horseshoe crabs either. They're apparently grown to 1 ft or so?
So how the heck do you get a tank that is more wide than tall? I'm assuming that's the kind of tank I need because of the requirements of these guys. I hear that while some people suggest 200 gallons minimum, I've heard things of up to 600 gallons as well.
Honestly, I'm just curious about tank set up. Thanks guys :)
